Hunter Panels is transitioning current inventories of coated glass faced products to a new enhanced coated glass facer. H-Shield CG and H-Shield HD will be manufactured using a premium performance coated glass facer with white on one side of the board and black on the other side. The purpose of this two-sided, two different colored facers is to allow the installer better control of adhesive flash-off times during the application of fully adhered systems. For all other applications, the facer performance is unchanged and either side maybe installed facing up.

Benefits of the enhanced facer include:

Allows the applicator to speed up or slow down adhesive flash-off time

Increases surface temperature of the dark facer up to 50°F (10°C) above ambient temperature

Decreases surface temperature of the light facer up to 10°F (-12°C) below ambient temperature

Provides up to 2x faster adhesive flash-off on cooler days and up to 4x faster on warmer days when utilizing the dark facer

The state of New Mexico has voted to adopt the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) which will increase the minimum R-value requirements for commercial roofing insulation on new construction and re-reroofing projects. This code will take effect in about six months. Please take a look at the map of New Mexico below for areas that you may be working in and the chart for combinations of Polyiso insulation from Versico Roofing Systems/Hunter Panels to meet the minimum R-value requirements for that area.

Save time, money, and reduce waste on your next job while working around roof drains by using Hunter Panels Q2 4×4 Target Sump.

A common application to achieve an R30 on a structurally sloped deck consists of 2 layers of 2.6″ flat polyiso. Utilizing a Q1 Target Sump (.5″-1.5″) at the drain locations works well for drainage but creates a 1″ “step” from the edge of the Q1 sump to the edge of the top layer of 2.6″ flat. This is often aesthetically unpleasing once a membrane is applied. A Q2 Target Sump (1.5″ – 2.5″) is a much better solution eliminating the “step” creating a cleaner and smoother transition.
