Every year is a chance to start fresh, and typically that means throwing everything away; but why not take some of the good things and recycle them like PVC?
Few products are more readily recyclable than PVC; in fact, PVC can be recycled many times over without degrading the component materials, enabling it to be used in multiple product life cycles. How exactly is PVC recycled? There are two main approaches.
One way to recycle PVC is called “mechanically recycled”, a process in which it is cut into very small pieces. Since PVC is a thermo-plastic material, these pieces can be readily melted to form new products. The second process is what is called “feedstock recycling” in which PVC waste is broken down to its constituent chemical molecules. Those molecules can then be used again to make new PVC.
To literally top that off, the APEEL film on PVC Membranes is also 100% recyclable. This means from start to finish PVC APEEL is the best way to be environmentally conscious. Throwing things away is easy, but it is not the best option. Let us all take the time to recycle the good things, however small, from 2020 into 2021 and follow that with recyclable PVC APEEL.
